Individual Award for Excellence in Training
This Award acknowledges the outstanding achievement and an ongoing commitment by training providers in all aspects of training to the Australian resources industry. This category is open to all industry trainers and assessors as well as training administrators and co-ordinators.
To be eligible for nomination in this category, the nominee must be an individual who has made a significant contribution to training that uses the national coal, metalliferous and/or heavy industry training packages.
• Nominations for the Individual Award for Excellence in Training can be made online at www.miskillscentreconference.com.au/awardnominations or by a written response addressing the criteria listed below.
• Nominations for the Individual Award for Excellence in Training are to be made in writing, and must include a response to each of the criteria listed below. Your response to the criteria is limited to:
o Half an A4 page per criteria; and
o Three A4 pages in total.
The entire nomination submission, including supporting documents, must not exceed 15 pages.
Nomination Criteria
1. Briefly describe your job role and how it relates to the training function.
2. Provide an overview of the training programs/systems you administer and/or deliver, including:
• The types of training programs;
• The training system; and
• Details of the training delivery process and individual objectives.
3. Provide examples of how you are able to add value to the training programs, in particular comment on your role in relation to:
• Planning and/or management of the training programs;
• Identification of staff training needs;
• Responding to identified training needs; and
• Monitoring and evaluating training outcomes.
4. Comment on your involvement in the review, design and implementation of site training programs.
5. Describe how the design and development of your site’s training programs/systems demonstrates innovation and leading practice.
6. Comment on a recent success story which may include:
• Delivery of a training program;
• Innovation in implementation or design of the training system components;
• Your involvement; and
• The outcomes (for the participants, your role, your site).
