2010 Training Awards

INNOVATION AWARD

This important award recognises innovation by companies, service providers and individuals who have pushed boundaries using innovative processes and practices in workforce development and workforce planning across the Australian resources industry.

Nomination Criteria for the Innovation Award

1. Briefly describe the initiative including its objectives and the circumstances that led to its development. 

2. Explain how the initiative was implemented across the site and/or organisation and identify any challenges that had to be overcome during the implementation process. 

3. Provide evidence of how the initiative is innovative and demonstrates leading practice in the industry including details of: 

• Outcomes
• Effects and benefits; and
• Operational improvements 

4. Describe how the effectiveness of the innovation has been measured. 

5. Indicate how the initiative is sustainable. Comment on: 

• How the resulting systems will be managed in the future;
• Any capacity for further development; and
• How the innovation may be used, modified or transferred to other sites and/or organisations.

It may be useful to refer to a copy of the Mining Industry Skills Strategy when putting your nomination together. Contact the Mining Industry Skills Centre if you would like a copy or access it online at www.miskillscentre.com.au.

• Nominations for the Innovation Award can be made online at www.miskillscentreconference.com/awardnominations or by a written response to the criteria listed above.
• Nominations for the Innovation Award are to be made in writing, and must include a response to each of the criteria listed above. Your response to the criteria is limited to: 

o Half an A4 page per criteria; and
o Three A4 pages in total. 

The entire nomination submission, including supporting documents, must not exceed 15 pages.
