Dr Ali Dale - Principal Psychologist for Sentis Australia (Master of Ceremonies for 2010 Conference)
Dr. Ali Dale is the Principal Psychologist for Sentis, a global team of psychologists and safety professionals who specialize in enhancing safety performance through the psychologically based Zero Incident Process: “ZIP”. In doing so, Ali has consulted to utilities and resources based clients around the world including Australia, Singapore, Europe, North & South America, Canada, Africa, and New Zealand. With a Masters degree and PhD in Clinical and Health Psychology, Ali is a published author and sought after speaker. In her current role Ali focuses on the application of the latest research and cutting edge psychology to improving safety performance in the utility and resources industries.

Richard Fidler (Master of Ceremonies for 2010 Training Awards Dinner)
Richard Fidler is a media broadcaster and writer & currently hosts an arts and culture panel and debate show titled “Vulture” on Tuesday evenings at 10pm. He is well known to Australians as a former member of comedy group The Doug Anthony Allstars, and as the presenter of several ABC TV series, including ‘Race Around the World’ and ‘AfterShock’, a series on technology and the future.

Marvin Oka
Marvin Oka speaks of three mysteries: the mystery of air to the bird, the mystery of sea to the fish and the mystery of language to humans. Throughout Marvin’s career language has been a fundamental part of his work and success.
He is a world leader and authority in the fields of behavioural modelling and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). He is one of only five people in the world recognized with the rare title of Certified Master Behavioural Modeller and Certified NLP Master Trainer.
Despite, however, what looks like, and is, an exceptionally strong academic background, he is a remarkable communicator to audiences at any level. He, in fact, started life as a professional magician and has lost none of his abilities as a showman.

Ewen McKenzie - Head Coach for QR Reds
A former Wallaby prop, Ewen McKenzie took up coaching after retiring as a player in 1997. He was an assistant to both Rod Macqueen and Eddie Jones at Wallaby level before succeeding Bob Dwyer as Head Coach of the Waratahs in November, 2003. Ewen led the Waratahs to the 2005 Super 12 final in just his second year at the helm.
As a player, Ewen McKenzie played 51 Tests across seven years for the Wallabies after first representing Australia in 1990 against France.
In October 2009, Ewen McKenzie was announced Head Coach of the QR Reds.

Terese Morgan - Queensland eLearning Coordinator, Australian Flexible Learning Framework
Terese is currently the Queensland e-Learning Coordinator for the Australian Flexible Learning Framework but has worked as a teacher in public and private schools and in practitioner and management roles in training and tertiary education sectors. Before taking up her current position Terese was the Manager of the FlexiLearn Unit at the Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE. Here she oversaw the operation of the Libraries and Learning Technologies teams with responsibilities that included resource acquisition, e-learning product development, and the promotion of and training in the use of new technologies
In her current role, Terese works closely with the Queensland Framework Toolbox Champion Service and the E-learning Innovations Coordinator to support the uptake and embedding of elearning tools and strategies into key business operations of VET training organisations.

Toni-Maree Pettigrew - Senior Program Officer - Product Innovation, Queensland Vocational Education Training (VET) Development Centre (QVDC)
Toni-Maree is currently the Senior Program Officer for Product Innovation within the Queensland VET Development Centre (QVDC). In her current role, Toni-Maree is responsible for the delivery of programs that support State direction in the uptake and embedding of technology into the vocational education and training sector. Working closely with the Australian Flexible Learning Framework in Queensland, Toni-Maree capitalises on existing resources, tools and knowledge developed from the national strategy that supports QLD registered training organisations to embed technology.
Toni-Maree has worked in management, training and development and is an advocate for effective use of technology to support development of a skilled workforce. Completing a number of qualifications in the education field the most recent (2008) being a Master of Education (Major: Online Education) and currently completing a Master of Project Management, Toni-Maree has developed a rounded knowledge of business and educational decisions that training organisations face when embedding technology into training delivery.

Elyssebeth Leigh - Director, FutureSearch
Elyssebeth leads FutureSearch - an educational consultancy using action and experiential learning and simulations and games for organisational development and personal improvement.
As an experienced designer of simulations and games, she works in multi-cultural contexts including the 2010 conference on “Public Administration in the XX1st century – traditions and innovations” hosted by Lomonsov Moscow State University.
Elyssebeth publishes books the most recent book being Wills, S. Leigh, E. Ip, A (2010) The Power of Role-based e- Learning, New York, Routledge. She leads the Technical Committee for the SimTecT conferences (Brisbane June 2010 http://www.siaa.asn.au/

Dr Karen Becker - Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Business, Queensland University of Technology
Karen is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Business at QUT. Before joining the university sector, Karen spent over eleven years in industry in corporate human resource management and development roles and then as Manager of a regionally based management consulting firm, working extensively in the mining industry during this time. . Karen has taught in the area of HRM for over seven years and is an active researcher in the areas of workforce development, learning and change in the workplace.

John Sleigh - Inspector of Mines, Queensland Mines and Energy, DEEDI
John Sleigh is an inspector of mines in the Mackay office. His mining career began over 40 years ago as a mining trainee. As manager of a mine that achieved outstanding performance in both safety and production, he recognised that the significant difference between good and great mines was the skills of the people.
John consulted on training and safety needs to a range of both mining and non-mining clients. He is also the author of two books of experiential learning activities. John's mission is making learning fun for people whose most positive memory of a classroom is leaving it.
